The d20 Radio Network, the home of the ENnie Award winning Order 66 Podcast as well as many other gaming related podcasts, is proud to announce the formation and launch of a new game production company, Gamer Nation Studios. Gamer Nation Studios will create and produce board and card games designed by the listeners and producers of d20 Radio podcasts. The Studio’s first game is Edition Wars.
Gamer Nation Studios is run by David Villegas and Christopher Witt, hosts of The Order 66 podcast and founders of d20 Radio. David and Chris are business professionals with a passion for gaming! David is currently the Research & Development Lead at a major financial services software design firm with products in production at over half of the largest 30 banks in the United States and Chris is one of the Product Managers. Together they consult with Bank Executives and chart strategy for their retail operations. They bring a wealth of practical experience and knowledge to Gamer Nation Studios.
Along with David and Chris are Richard Tanner and Brian Casey. Richard and Brian add valuable experience as designers, writers, players, testers and game store owners. These four gentlemen represent the heart of Gamer Nation Studios.
The first release, Edition Wars, is now on Kickstarter. Edition Wars is a fun-filled, tongue-in-check standalone strategy card game for 3-5 players, where you become a Gamemaster slavishly devoted to your edition of the game! In the effort to champion your edition, you will compete to be the first to assemble a complete group of six Gamers. But this simple task is complicated by the fact that the other Gamemasters are trying to steal your Gamers out from under you! You can respond in kind, defend your existing Gamers with the standard attacks of Snark, Blog, and Merch; as well as equip yourself with special gear and toss about instant critical effects, all of which will aid you on your epic quest to edition supremacy!
With successful funding on Kickstarter, Edition Wars will be debuting at Gen-Con this year. Backers on Kickstarter have funding options which include the ability to have their caricature included in the game as well as receiving special cards only available via Kickstarter and Gen-Con. Three people who donate $500 or more can play in a special session of Edition Wars with David and Christopher and receive an exhibitors badge so they can hang out at the Gen-con booth and participate in a private RPG session.
Edition Wars will retail for $22.00 MSRP, but Kickstarter backers will be able to purchase additional copies beyond the free copy for backing the project for a special price of $18.00 each.
The d20 Radio Network began in January of 2008 with it’s flagship program The Order 66 podcast, the first podcast devoted to Star Wars Saga Edition. Since then it has grow to a network of 16 separate podcasts covering a wide range of gaming and geek interests from Dungeons and Dragons and Star Wars: The Old Republic to Cars and Board Gaming. With a listener-ship numbering in the thousands from around the world, the d20 Radio Network provides entertainment and information to geeks of all styles. |
